About Me

I worked as a midwife from 2007 to 2022 and have always offered private care.
I enjoy getting to know my clients and their families personally and being able to offer care tailored to their individual needs.

I have 4 children of my own through 3 very different births.
My first pregnancy was with twins, who decided they would get into a breech position at 28 weeks and stay there! I therefore had a c-section for their birth. 28 years ago I was given a general anaesthetic and didn't see my babies until the next day. I'm very pleased that today we treat mothers and babies with a lot more love and respect.

My second birth was an induction of labour, as my son was very comfortable and had not put in an appearance by 10 days past my due date. I was lucky to have a very easy and straightforward labour with him, in spite of having to be continuously monitored, and having a drip in my arm just "in case" I ended up being rushed to theatre for another c-section. In fact if I knew then what I know now I probably would have declined the induction and I'm sure my son would have arrived under his own steam in another day or two.

My last birth was wonderful. Lasting just 3 hours, I had no pain relief, had my baby girl standing beside the bed, pushed just once, and had a physiological 3rd stage. This was the birth experience which encouraged me to follow midwifery as a career. I felt totally in control and that I owned that birth.

I felt empowered and the experience changed me as a woman.

This is the experience I want to help each woman achieve.
